Mount Tohivea (or Tohiea) is the highest point on the island of Mo'orea in French Polynesia at 1,207 metres (3,960 ft). The mountain is about 2 miles (3.2 km) from the settlement of Pao Pao, and is easily visible from the nearby island of Tahiti.
Mount Tohivea is a remnant of the shield volcano which built the island of Mo'orea.[3] It is estimated to be between 1.9 and 1.5 million years old.[3][4]
Hiking trails on the mountain offer views of Cook's Bay, Opunohu Bay, and of Tahiti.[5]
