Muhammad Mainur Rahman [a] is a three-star general of the Bangladesh Army[1] and the GOC of Army Training and Doctrine Command. Prior to that he was GOC of 24th Infantry Division and Area Commander of Chittagong Area. Before that, he was General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 33 Infantry division.[2] Before serving as GOC of 33 Infantry Division, he was the Director of WE&S Directorate, Army Headquarters.[3]

Career
Mainur was commissioned in Bangladesh Army on 21 June 1991 with 24th BMA Long Course. In his military career, he has served as instructor in School of Infantry and Tactics and as Directing Staff in Defense Services Command and Staff College. He was also the Brigade Major of an Infantry Brigade in 24th Infantry Division. Mainur commanded 4th East Bengal Regiment as a Lieutenant Colonel.
While he was a Brigadier General, he served as Assistant Military Secretary to President Abdul Hamid.[4] During his tenure as Brigadier General, he also commanded 21st Infantry Brigade in Jashore and 305th Infantry Brigade in Rangamati. After serving as DWE&S in AHQ, he was promoted to the rank of Major General on 20 July 2022.[5] After commanding 33th and 24th Infantry division respectively, Mainur was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General on 14 October 2024.
