Napoleon Pardoning the Rebels at Cairo is an 1808 history painting by the French artist Pierre-Narcisse Guérin.[1][2] It depicts a scene on 23 October 1798 during the French invasion of Egypt. In the aftermath of the crushing of the Revolt of Cairo that broke out two days earlier, Napoleon pardons several of the leaders of the rebellion.[3] The French general Joachim Murat stands behind him.
