Naresh Patel (born 1967)[1] is an Indian politician from Gujarat. He is a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from Gandevi Assembly constituency, which is reserved for the Scheduled Tribe community, in Navsari district. He won the 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election representing the Bharatiya Janata Party.[2][3][4]

Early life and education

Patel is from Gandevi, Navsari district, Gujarat. He is the son of Maganbhai Kaliyabhai Patel. He studied Class 10 at Dhirubhai M. Desai Agasiwala H. S. School, Agasi, and passed the examinations in 1985. Later, he discontinued his studies.[1]

Career

Patel won from Gandevi Assembly constituency representing the Bharatiya Janata Party in the 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election. He polled 131,116 votes and defeated his nearest rival, Ashok Patel of the Indian National Congress, by a margin of 93,166 votes.[5][6][7] He first became an MLA winning the 2017 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election by a margin of 57,261 votes.[8]
