Nebius was formed in 2024 as part of corporate restructuring of Yandex. In July 2024, due to international sanctions during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the company sold Yandex to a consortium of Russian investors as part of a $5.4 billion deal took place to split the international and domestic Yandex assets[8]. The businesses that operated outside of Russia were renamed Nebius Group,[9][10] a full-stack AI infrastructure company[11] with approximately 1,000 former Yandex employees.[10][7] In October 2024, following the complete split from Yandex, Nebius shares resumed trading on the Nasdaq.[12]
Nebius has its own servers and data centers[13] and provides cloud infrastructure for AI developers.[14] In December 2024, Nebius had raised $700 million through private investors, including Nvidia and Accel Partners.[8][6]
Nebius owns a data center in Mäntsälä, Finland,[1] a GPU cluster at an Equinix data center in Paris,[15][16][17] a GPU cluster at a data center in Kansas City, Missouri, under construction,[18][19] and a 300MW data center in Vineland, New Jersey, under construction.[20] Nebius also owns Avride and TripleTen,[6] and has stakes in Toloka and Clickhouse.[7]
Nebius is headquartered in Amsterdam with offices in Israel and the United States.[11]
