Neelay Hath (Urdu: نیلے ہاتھ, lit.'Blue Hands') is a 1989 Pakistani television series written by Shahid Nadeem and directed by Muhammad Azeem.[1][2] The drama was aired during Benazir Bhutto's government.[3] The series was also popular in India.[4]

Synopsis

The story revolves around Nabeela Noman, an educated girl who is also a member of a women's rights organisation. She is imprisoned on false charges. Nabeela meets three prisoners who are imprisoned on different false charges.[5][6][2]

Production

The series was based on Barri (The Acquittal) written by Shahid Nadeem stage play based on four female prisoners incarcerated on various false charges.[2] It gained critical acclaim in both Pakistan and India and then Shahid wrote the television serial called Neelay Hath.[2]
