Nick Coe

Nicholas Coe (born August 12, 1997) is an American professional football defensive lineman for the Osos de Monterrey of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA). Coe signed as an undrafted free agent with the New England Patriots in May 2020 before being waived in August, and signing to the Miami Dolphins practice squad for the 2020-21 season. He played college football at Auburn.

College career

Coe was a member of the Auburn Tigers for four seasons, redshirting as a true freshman.^[1] As a sophomore, Nick finished with seven sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss. As a junior, he had with 15 total tackles.^[2] After Coe's junior season, he announced that he would forgo his senior year and skip the 2020 Outback Bowl.^[3]

Coe participated in the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine.^[6][7] He went undrafted despite being considered a mid-to-late round prospect for the 2020 NFL draft.^[8][9][10]

New England Patriots

Coe was signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2020.^[11] He was waived by the Patriots on August 13, 2020.^[12]

Miami Dolphins

Coe had a tryout with the Miami Dolphins on August 20, 2020.^[13] He was signed to their practice squad on September 7, 2020.^[14] He signed a reserve/future contract with the Dolphins on January 5, 2021.^[15] Coe was waived by the Dolphins on July 23, 2021.^[16]

Saskatchewan Roughriders

Coe signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) on September 23, 2021.^[17] He was released on June 5, 2022.^[18]

Edmonton Elks

The Edmonton Elks announced the signing of Coe to their practice roster on June 21, 2022.^[19]

Orlando Guardians

On November 17, 2022, Coe was drafted by the Orlando Guardians of the XFL.^[20] The Guardians folded when the XFL and USFL merged to create the United Football League (UFL).^[21]

Orlando Predators

Coe signed with the Orlando Predators on February 19, 2024.^[22] He was not listed on their active roster to begin the season.

Fundidores de Monterrey / Osos de Monterrey

Coe joined the Fundidores de Monterrey of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA) for the 2024 LFA season, recording two sacks.^[23] He returned to the team in 2025, rebranded as the Osos de Monterrey, and tallied 18 total tackles (including 15 solo and two for loss) and one sack.^[24]
