Career

Perspective

In September 2014, Yassin started working as a software developer for Venmo, a mobile payment service owned by PayPal, in New York.[6][7]

In 2016, Yassin quit his job at Venmo and decided to explore the world[6] with the intention of documenting his travels and experiences on video.[7] This resulted in his founding the video production company Nas Daily Corporation[8] and Facebook page Nas Daily (Arabic: الناس, romanized: Al-Nās, lit.'People'), where he released a one-minute-long video daily for 1,000 days.[4] After meeting Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in early 2018, Nas Daily was upgraded to "show" status,[9] and by September 2018, his page had amassed over 8 million followers.[10] By November of the same year this number had risen to over 10 million.[11]

All of Yassin's one-minute daily videos were posted to Facebook. Yassin stated in 2017 that he did not post the videos to YouTube for a multitude of reasons, including his friends not being present on the platform.[7]

In 2019, he started to upload old videos of his on his official YouTube channel Nas Daily Official. The videos are shot using an SLR camera with an attached microphone, and are then edited before being released the next day.[9] On average, each video takes around six hours to shoot and three hours to edit.[4] In the beginning, the topics for Yassin's video were suggestions provided by his Facebook followers.[10] Each video ended with the tagline: "That’s one minute, see you tomorrow!"[9]

Yassin's collaborators included his then girlfriend Alyne Tamir, an American Israeli video-maker of Mormon and Jewish background,[12] and Agon Hare, a video blogger and musician from Poland.[13]

Due to the popularity of the videos with non-English speaking audiences, subtitles are provided in various languages, such as Urdu, Turkish, Thai, Indonesian, Japanese, Hindi, Chinese and Arabic.[14]

Philanthropy

Nas Company’s focus on cross-cultural engagement is shaped by the personal background of its founder, Nuseir Yassin. As a Palestinian citizen of Israel, Yassin’s upbringing in a politically and culturally divided region has influenced the company’s mission to “bring people together” through storytelling. The name Nas - which means people in Arabic - reflects this objective.[25]

Rather than operating traditional philanthropic programs, the company creates content that highlights shared human experiences across geographic, cultural, and ideological boundaries. Through platforms like Nas Daily, Yassin has produced videos featuring individuals and communities from a wide range of backgrounds, with a focus on dialogue, coexistence, and mutual understanding.[25]

As of 2025, the company reports reaching over 300 million people per month across its media platforms.[25] In May 2025, Yassin was awarded an honorary doctorate by Ben-Gurion University for his contributions to peace-building and fostering cross-cultural understanding through digital media.[26]
