Pandit Pradeep Mishra (born 16 June 1977) is an Indian religious speaker and spiritual figure known for delivering discourses on Hindu scriptures, particularly the Shiva Purana. He is the chief priest at the Kubreshwar Dham temple in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Early life and education
Mishra was born in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, into a Brahmin family. His father, Rameshwar Dayal Mishra, worked as a street vendor. He completed his schooling in Sehore and earned a bachelor's degree. According to reports, he developed an interest in religious activities from a young age.[7]
Career
Mishra began his career as a schoolteacher before becoming a full-time religious speaker. He started with recitations of the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha and later focused on the Shiva Purana. He received initiation (Diksha) from Govardhan Nath in Indore.[8][9]
He became popularly known as "Sehore Wale Baba" for his spiritual discourses. His recorded speeches shared on social media gained significant attention, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. He currently conducts events such as the Rudraksha Mahotsav and Shiv Purana Katha at Kubreshwar Dham.[10][11][12]

Public engagement
Mishra established the Shri Vitthalesh Seva Samiti, a religious organization based in Sehore, which is involved in organizing discourses and charitable activities including community meals and healthcare initiatives. He also maintains a significant following on digital platforms such as YouTube and Facebook.[13][9]
Recognition
In 2022, Mishra was listed in the World Book of Records (London) for achieving one of the highest numbers of concurrent viewers during a live-streamed spiritual event.[14]

Mishra resides in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh. He is married and has two sons.[citation needed]
Controversy
In February 2024, a controversy emerged involving Pandit Pradeep Mishra and spiritual leader Premanand Govind Sharan Maharaj. During a religious discourse, Mishra made remarks that were perceived by some devotees as critical of Premanand Ji Maharaj's teachings and traditions, particularly in reference to practices associated with the Barsana temple. The comments led to public backlash on social media platforms and among Premanand Ji's followers.[1][15]
In response to the criticism, Pandit Pradeep Mishra issued a public apology and clarified that his statements were misinterpreted and not directed personally at Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj. The apology was widely reported in the media and helped deescalate the issue among their respective followers.[16][17][18][19]
