Perspective
The film was initially referred to as RC16. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, who made his debut with Uppena (2021), the film is planned as a large-scale sports drama set in a rural backdrop.[4]
The film was officially launched with a muhurtham on 20 March 2024 in Hyderabad. The event was attended by Chiranjeevi, Boney Kapoor, Sukumar, and other notable guests. Chiranjeevi sounded the clapboard, while Allu Aravind handed over the script to the film’s team. Janhvi Kapoor was cast as the female lead, marking her second Telugu film after Devara (2024).[8] The film's technical crew includes R. Rathnavelu as the cinematographer, Navin Nooli as the editor, and Avinash Kolla as the production designer.[9]
The film's official title was announced as Peddi on 27 March 2025, coinciding with Ram Charan's 40th birthday.[10][11] To mark the occasion, the first-look posters were released. The first poster presents Charan in a rugged appearance with messy hair, an unkempt beard, and a nose ring, wearing a red-striped outfit while smoking a cigar. The second poster depicts him holding an old cricket bat in a rustic village stadium under floodlights, suggesting the film’s sports-centric theme.[4]
Principal photography of the film has been ongoing.[12][13]
