Perspective
After playing multiple years in the junior leagues in his hometown of Plzeň, Hauser was approached by HC Sparta Praha and joined them starting in 2020, initially with their junior teams.[1] Despite being a part of the team since 2020, Hauser didn't play a game with them at the professional level until 2022, going scoreless in eight games. Instead, he spent most of the season on loan with HC Stadion Litoměřice of the 1st Czech Republic Hockey League.
Hauser finally got to play regular games with Sparta Praha in the 2023–24 season, scoring seven assists in 30 games with the team. He would also play eleven games with their under-20 team that season, and produce at a high level, scoring 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points in just 11 games. He would produce through the playoffs for the youth team as well, scoring nine points in seven games.
During the 2024–25 season, Hauser did not play any games with Sparta Praha, instead going on loan to his hometown team HC Plzen, as well as HC Vitkovice. He also returned on loan to Stadion Litoměřice. The lack of a home seemed to diminish Hauser's offensive output, as he combined for six goals and seven assists in 42 games across both Czech levels.
Hauser was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the fifth round of the 2022 NHL entry draft.[2] On March 4, 2025, his rights were sent to the Edmonton Oilers in a three-way trade alongside Trent Frederic and Max Jones.[3]
