Pieszkowo [pjɛʂˈkɔvɔ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Górowo Iławeckie, within Bartoszyce County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland, close to the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia.[1] It lies approximately 6 km (4 mi) south of Górowo Iławeckie, 20 km (12 mi) west of Bartoszyce, and 48 km (30 mi) north of the regional capital Olsztyn.

History
The suffix -hagen of the historic village name is typical for settlements founded by Germans during Medieval Ostsiedlung.[2] Historically, Polish-language services were held in the local church.[3]
From 1945 to 1958 the village was administratively located in the Iławka County in the Masurian District and Olsztyn Voivodeship.[4][5] From 1959 to 1961 it was administratively located in the Górowo County in the Olsztyn Voivodeship.[6]
