Plavsk (Russian: Плавск) is a town and the administrative center of Plavsky District in Tula Oblast, Russia, located on the Plava River. Population: 16,165 (2010 Census);[3] 16,750 (2002 Census);[9] 16,559 (1989 Soviet census).[10]

Administrative and municipal status
Within the framework of administrative divisions, Plavsk serves as the administrative center of Plavsky District.[1] As an administrative division, it is incorporated within Plavsky District as Plavsk Town Under District Jurisdiction.[2] As a municipal division, Plavsk Town Under District Jurisdiction is incorporated within Plavsky Municipal District as Plavsk Urban Settlement.[5]
