Remove ads
Potiguara is an extinct dialect of Tupi formerly used by the Potiguara people of Brazil. It is attested primarily from a short wordlist recorded in 1961 by linguists from SIL.[2] According to Willem Adelaar, the language is best analyzed as a dialect of Tupinambá, based on possibly Potiguara data found in the Dutch National Archive.[3]
