Priyanka Penchi (born 1991)[1] is an Indian politician from Madhya Pradesh. She is a member of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly representing the Bharatiya Janata Party from Chachoura Assembly constituency in Guna district. She won the 2023 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly election.[2][3]

Early life and education

Penchi is from Chachoura, Guna district, Madhya Pradesh, India. She married Praduman Meena, a central government officer.[1] She completed her graduation in Bachelor of Technology (Electrical and electronics) at Rajasthan Technical University, Kota, in 2014.[1]

Career

Priyanka penchi made her political debut and was elected as an MLA for the first time winning the 2023 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly election from Chachoura Assembly constituency representing the Bharatiya Janata Party. She polled 110,254 votes and defeated her nearest rival, Lakshman Singh of the Indian National Congress, by a margin of 61,570 votes.[3][4][5] Former MLA Mamta Meena, who contested and lost the 2018 Assembly election on BJP ticket to Lakshman Singh, brother of former chief minister Digvijaya Singh, was denied a ticket and she joined and contested as an AAP candidate in the 2023 election. Pench was nominated as BJP candidate ahead of Menon.[6][7][8]

Controversy

In June 2025, she wrote a letter to the chief minister Mohan Yadav making allegations that the Guna district Superintendent of Police Ankit Soni was harassing her. She objected to some police transfers in her constituency some of which were stayed later.[9][10] Later, Gwalior range IGP Arvind Saxena said that the issue was resolved.[11]
