The truck has electric motors for both the front and rear axle. The front axle motor is rated at 250 kilowatts (340 hp), while the rear is rated at 238 kW (319 hp). The 3.6L Pentastar V6 gasoline engine is mated to a 130 kW (170 hp) generator which recharges the battery and extends the truck's range, but has no direct linkage to the wheels.[3] When additional power or traction is not needed, the front motor automatically disconnects from the wheels to improve efficiency.[4]

Ram expects the truck to have an all-electric range of 145 miles (233 km) and a range of 690 miles (1,110 km) when the gasoline engine is used. The fuel tank has a capacity of 27 gallons (102 L).[5] Trucks will be equipped with a CCS connector for DC fast charging, enabling 50 miles (80 km) of all-electric range to be added in approximately 10 minutes.[6] It also expects the truck to produce up to 663 horsepower (494 kW) and 615 pound-feet (834 N⋅m) of torque, a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.4 seconds, a towing capacity of up to 14,000 pounds (6,400 kg), and a payload capacity of up to 2,625 pounds (1,191 kg).[3][7]

Unlike the regular Ram 1500 that uses standard rear coil springs, the REV features an air suspension in the rear as standard equipment.[8]

In September 2025, the production model was renamed REV, after the cancellation of the all-electric truck by the same name.
