The ridged tree frog (Dryophytes plicatus) is a species of frog in the family Hylidae endemic to Mexico. Its natural habitats include mountainous pine-fir forests in high elevations.[2][3] In lower elevations it is known to inhabit moderate and low-lying streams and ponds where it is believed to breed.[2]

It is also found in subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland, rivers, intermittent freshwater marshes, rural gardens, heavily degraded former forests, and ponds[citation needed].
