Sakmarsky District

Sakmarsky District (Russian: Сакмарский райо́н) is an administrative^[1] and municipal^[5] district (raion), one of the thirty-five in Orenburg Oblast, Russia. It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,061 square kilometers (796 sq mi).^[3] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Sakmara.^[2] Population: 29,179 (2010 Census);^[4] 28,569 (2002 Census);^[7] 26,384 (1989 Soviet census).^[8] The population of Sakmara accounts for 17.2% of the total district's population.^[4]
