Sam and Colby are an American YouTuber duo, consisting of Sam Golbach (born November 27, 1996) and Colby Brock (born January 2, 1997). They are best known for their paranormal investigations.[1][2]

Quick facts Born, Education ...

The pair first met in middle school band class, however the two didn’t become friends until shortly after they both joined the Blue Valley High School marching band. During summer band camp they bonded over having a crush on the same drum major. The two began to boost each other’s confidence.[3] In one of their earlier videos: How We Met[4], Sam and Colby explain they were “shy” and awkward band kids who wanted to step out of their comfort zone. While their content first started out as performing public pranks, there was a deeper meaning behind it. As the duo continued to make content their confidence grew and they wanted to help and inspire other people become for confident within themselves as well.

After initially gaining prominence on Vine as teenagers in the mid-2010s with comedic videos,[5][1] they started uploading videos onto YouTube after the former became defunct.[1]

Their first YouTube video: Intro Video,[6] first released on November 13, 2014 and the pair has grown their channel ever since. Their earlier content on YouTube was random as they expressed they would be doing “everything” and asked for commenters suggestions. They made vlogs that filmed their everyday lives and followed media trends.

In April of 2015, Sam and Colby released their first paranormal vlog: Our First Haunted Experience[7]. In the video the duo were on their way to a party and they experienced some car trouble. They were near an abandoned house and Colby decided the pair should explore the building.

As their content became more professional, the iconic duo focused their channel around their paranormal vlogging. Partnering up with various other YouTubers and Influencers, Sam and Colby pushed to prove the paranormal. The two have been to some of the most well known paranormal locations, one of their most popular being The Conjuring house.[8]

However, their exploratory videos did at times get them into trouble as the pair illegally explored abandoned buildings. In January of 2019[9], Sam and Colby were arrested for trespassing on a school construction site in Tampa, Florida.

As of October 2025, they have 14.8 million subscribers.[10]
