Serville Poblete is a Canadian screenwriter and film director from Toronto,[1] whose debut feature film Altar Boy premiered in the Borsos Competition program at the 2021 Whistler Film Festival.[2]
Of Filipino descent, Poblete grew up in the St. James Town neighbourhood of Toronto, and studied media production at George Brown College.[1] Shortly after graduating, and with little to no filmmaking experience, Serville directed his debut feature film Altar Boy in the summer of 2019. He co-produced the film alongside his childhood friend Mark Bacolcol, who also starred in the project, under their production company, New Radio Pictures.
His second feature film, Lovely, premiered at the 2024 Reelworld Film Festival,[3] and was longlisted for the 2024 Jean-Marc Vallée DGC Discovery Award.[4]
