Shahid Mahmood Baig (Urdu: شاہد محمود بیگ) is a Pakistani scientist and geneticist. Currently working as an advisor at COMSTECH.[3]

Education and Academic Career
Shahid Mahmood Baig was born in Pakistan. He earned his F.Sc. (Biology) in 1978, and B.Sc. (Biology) in 1981 from Gordon College Rawalpindi, M.Sc. (Biology) in 1984, MPhil (Physiology of Reproduction) in 1986, and PhD (Human Molecular Genetics) in 1997 from Quaid-I-Azam University Islamabad (PhD research at Bosphorus University, Istanbul, Turkey), first postdoc (Molecular Biology and Genetics) from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2000, and second postdoc (Oncogenomics) from Duke University, Durham, NC, USA, in 2012.[4]
In 2023, Baig was elected a Fellow of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences.[5]

- Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Medal of Distinction) Award by the Government of Pakistan (2023)[6][7]
- Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Distinction) Award by the President of Pakistan (2015)[8][9][10]
