Format
Presented with a group of nine "mystery singers" that identified only by their occupation, a guest artist and a pair of contestants must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the selection without ever hearing them perform live, over the course of several rounds.[a] They are also assisted with clues regarding singers' backgrounds, style of performance, and observations from a celebrity panel. At the end of a game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.
The contestants must eliminate one mystery singer at the end of each round, receiving a designated cash value based on the number of bad singer eliminations.[a] At the end of a game, if the contestants decide to walk away, they will keep the money had won in previous rounds; if they decide to risk for the last remaining mystery singer, they win €20,000 if a singer is good, or lose their all winnings if a singer is bad.
Rounds
Visual round
- First impression (French: Première impression)
- s2: The guest artist and contestants are given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance.
Lip sync rounds
Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song; good singers mime to a recording of their own, while bad singers mime to a backing track by another vocalist.
- Playback (French: Relecture)
- s1–2: The mystery singers are divided into batches,[a] and each of them would have to perform lip sync individually.
- Concealed vocals (French: Cachez la voix)
- s1–2: The mystery singer lip syncs to the good singer's recording, then a bad singer's recording comes in the middle of the performance.
Evidence round
- Exhibit (French: Pièce à conviction)
- s1–2: The guest artist and contestants are presented with a video package containing possible clues by one of the mystery singers of their choice.
Talent round
- Acting (French: La performance)
- s1: The guest artist and contestants must describe one of the mystery singer's other talents, except "singing" itself. This may not be related to the "stage of truth", but depends on their identity.
Rehearsal round
- Secret studio (French: Studio secret)
- s2: The guest artist and contestants are presented with video from a recording session by one of the mystery singers, but pitch-shifted to obscure their actual vocals.
Interrogation round
- Interview (French: L'interview)
- s1–2: The guest artist and contestants may ask questions to the remaining mystery singers. Good singers are required to give truthful responses, while the bad singers must lie.

Production
Shine Group has originally made interest to produce a local adaptation of I Can See Your Voice in France, as per earlier report from Toute la Télé in September 2015.[5] After a six-year hiatus, Groupe M6 formally acquired the rights in March 2021,[6] with Warner Bros. International Television Production assigning on production duties.[7]
Broadcast history
Show Me Your Voice debuted with two occasional games played on 22 April and 13 May 2021.[1][2] At the time of filming during the COVID-19 pandemic, health and safety protocols are also implemented.[8]
According to a tweet by journalist Clément Garin in April 2024,[9] M6 formally announced that the series would revive after a three-year hiatus.[10] The second season premiered on 8 July 2024, with filming taking place at Studio 128 in Saint-Denis, Paris;[11] despite being prematurely ended after two weeks, the remaining two unaired episodes (featuring guest artists Sheryfa Luna and Anne Sila) were also released through streaming service M6+ on the same day as linear television premiere.[4][12]
