Shushtar County (Persian: شهرستان شوشتر) is in Khuzestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Shushtar.[3]

History
After the 2006 National Census, the village of Guriyeh was elevated to the status of a city.[4] In addition, the village of Shahrak-e Shahid Sharafat rose to city status as Sharafat.[5]
After the 2011 census, Miyan Ab[a] and Miyan Ab-e Shomali Rural Districts were separated from the Central District in the formation of Miyan Ab District, and the village of Sardarabad was elevated to city status as Sardaran.[6]

Population
At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 182,282 in 37,656 households.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 191,444 people in 45,360 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 192,028 in 50,878 households.[2]
