Quick facts Personal information, Born ...

Dahl started playing handball in his hometown club in Hvide Sande.[1] He later joined Skjern Håndbold, but had to retire early due to a shoulder injury, before he really had become a senior player.[1] He then became a youth and assistant coach at the club instead. Already as a player he had a keen interest in the tactical side of the game, and saw the playmaker and later national team coach Jesper Jensen as his idol.[2]

At the age of 23, in 2015 he joined Nordsjælland Håndbold as the assistant coach. Four years later he became the head coach of the club.[3] Simultaneously he was the assistant coach at the Danish U21 team.[1]

In 2022 he left his position at Nordsjælland to become the assistant coach at top club Aalborg Håndbold under Stefan Madsen.[1] Later Maik Machulla became the head coach at Aalborg, and Dahl continued under him as the assistant coach.[4] Maik Machulla was fired in Aalborg already in November 2024, the first season at the club, after which Dahl was made the temporary head coach, with world champion Henrik Møllgaard as his player-assistant coach.[4] He quickly impressed in his new role by winning the first 14 games in charge.[2]

In 2025 he won his first trophy at the club, when the club won the Danish Cup.[5] Later the same season he won the Danish championship.[6]
