Stepnovsky District

Stepnovsky District (Russian: Степно́вский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the twenty-six in Stavropol Krai, Russia.^[2] Municipally, it is incorporated as Stepnovsky Municipal District.^[4] It is located in the southeast of the krai. The area of the district is 1,887 square kilometers (729 sq mi).^[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Stepnoye.^[2] Population: 22,192 (2010 Census);^[3] 23,315 (2002 Census);^[7] 19,520 (1989 Census).^[8] The population of Stepnoye accounts for 25.3% of the district's total population.^[3]
