History

Storefriendly was started by Kevin Chan in 2002 with its fully self-owned storage facility, "Storefriendly Centre", in Singapore. Johansen and Chan started the Singapore expansion in 2011 with the first branch in Bukit Batok.^[7][8][9] SingPost acquired the company in 2015. Storefriendly subsequently relaunched in 2019 with its flagship branch in Paya Lebar.^[7][10][11]

In 2021, the company opened the Storefriendly Tower in Kwun Tong, Hong Kong.^[12] This was a self owned facility and notably included robotic storage,^[13] AI-powered facilities^[14][15] among other digital focused technologies.^[4][16][17]

The company launched the film "Make Space for the Future" with an AI-generated music track.^[18][19]

The company is a member of the Self Storage Association Asia (SSAA).^[20]
