Composition
"Sunshine" was written by Liam Payne, Savan Kotetcha, Carl Falk and Albin Nedler while production was handled by Falk and Nedler.[8] The track runs at 107 BPM and is in the key of A-sharp minor.[9] Speaking about writing the song for the film, Payne stated;
"It was a little bit of a different experience. We kind of had all the melodies and stuff done first and, as we knew we were writing a song for kids, one of the kids of one of the writers came into the room and we asked 'what did you think of the song?' And he was like 'I really like the song, I just wish it had more sunshine in it' and that's where the title came from."[1]
