In the literature
One of the Sindhi folktales of Sindh written by Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai is Sorath Rai Diyach. In this tale, Bijal, a charan, plays the Surando, and the king, Rai Diyach, is so impressed by the music that he agrees to Bijal's request for his head as a sacrifice in honour of the Surando music.[6]
