Surya Prasad Dhakal (Nepali: सुर्य प्रसाद ढकाल; born 30 December 1970) is a Nepalese entrepreneur renowned for his contributions to the plastic industry in Nepal. He is the proprietor of Sirish Plastic Pasal, a leading distributor of Bagmati Plastic products in Kathmandu, and has been active in the industry since 2047 BS (1990 AD). Dhakal is also credited for expanding his ventures into drum manufacturing in Chitwan from 2050 BS, further cementing his role as a pioneer in the sector.

Early life and education
Surya Prasad Dhakal was born on 30 December 1970 in Syangja District, Nepal. He grew up in rural Syangja before moving to urban areas to pursue business opportunities in the growing plastic trade.
Career
Dhakal began his career in the plastic industry in 2047 BS (1990 AD) when plastic manufacturing and distribution in Nepal were in their early stages. He initially operated as a dealer of Bagmati Plastic products through his business, Sirish Plastic Pasal, in Kathmandu.
In 2050 BS (1993 AD), Dhakal expanded his operations to Chitwan, where he established a drum manufacturing factory. This move allowed him to diversify production while continuing his dealership operations in Kathmandu, supplying both household and industrial plastic products to retail and wholesale markets across Nepal.

Legacy and impact
With over three decades of experience, Dhakal is regarded as one of the prominent figures in Nepal’s plastic industry. His work has facilitated the availability of affordable and durable plastic goods nationwide and supported local employment and manufacturing initiatives.
Personal life
Dhakal remains unaffiliated with any political parties and is dedicated to his entrepreneurial activities and family life.
