Suyetsky District (Russian: Суетский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the fifty-nine districts in Altai Krai, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the krai. The area of the district is 1,108 square kilometers (428 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Verkh-Suyetka.[1] As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 5,120, with the population of Verkh-Suyetka accounting for 43.4% of that number.[3]

History
The district was established on January 15, 1944 when Altai Krai was divided into districts.[2] It was abolished in 1962 and re-established in 1989.[2]
