Tauricornicaris

Extinct genus of arthropods From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Remove ads

Tauricornicaris is a giant arthropod from the Maotianshan Shales whose fossils were previously interpreted as a hurdiid radiodont ,but are now interpreted as arthropod tergites .[1] It somewhat resembles Zhenghecaris, which contributed to the latter’s reassignment within Hurdiidae. However, as Tauricornicaris is no longer a hurdiid this in turn makes Zhenghecaris's placement uncertain.[2][3][4]
