Theognete

In Greek mythology, Theognete (Ancient Greek: Θεογνήτης) was the daughter of Laodicus. By Aeson, King of Iolcus, she was the mother of Jason^[1] and possibly Promachus (Jason's brother).^[2]

In some accounts, she was called either (1) Alcimede, daughter of Phylacus;^[3] (2) Polymede^[4] (Polymele^[5] or Polypheme^[6]), daughter of Autolycus; (3) Amphinome;^[7] (4) Rhoeo, daughter of Staphylus;^[8] and lastly (5) Arne or (6) Scarphe.^[9]
