Thomas Sommer Arnoldsen (born 11 January 2002) is a Danish handball player for Aalborg Håndbold and the Danish national team.[1]

Career

Arnoldsen started playing handball at his hometown club Skanderborg Aarhus Håndbold. In the 2020/2021 season he was promoted to the first team. In his first season he scored 144 goals and got 143 assists, and was selected for the Talent of the Year (Årets talent).[2]

In 2023 he transferred to the Danish top team Aalborg Håndbold.[3] From the beginning of the season at his new club he was however out with an injury.[4] In 2024 he won the Danish Championship with Aalborg Håndbold, and in 2025 he won the Danish Cup with the club, beating Bjerringbro-Silkeborg in the final.[5]

From March 8th to April 28th 2025 he took a break from handball due to exhaustion. He returned in a league match against Skanderborg AGF Håndbold.[6] Later the same season he won the Danish championship.[7]

National team

He represented Denmark at the 2022 European Under-20 Championship[8] and the 2023 Junior World Championship.

He debuted for the Danish national team on March 9th 2023 in a 30:23 win against Germany, where he scored 7 goals. At the 2024 Olympics he won Gold medals with the Danish team.
