The show is presented by Todd Woodbridge, and features three contestants answering questions about general knowledge in order to win counters on a large coin pusher arcade machine to try and win money and prizes.[1][2] It replaced Millionaire Hot Seat, which had aired on the Nine Network between 2009 and 2023.[3]

Gameplay

Summarize
Perspective

The gameplay works similar to the British version of the show, albeit with a few differences.

Bank Builder

The show begins with the first of four rounds, the Bank Builder. The host will ask a question, then the contestants will buzz in to try and answer that question. If they are right, they will put a counter in the machine to try and win $100 ($300 in special edition) for each counter. If they are wrong, they will lose a counter from the three they were given at the start of the round.

Quickfire

In the Quickfire round, contestants are given 30 seconds to answer as many questions as they can. The amount of questions they get right are turned into counters that they can put into the machine to try and win cash. The contestant with the least amount of money in their bank at the end of the round is eliminated.

Head-to-head

The remaining two contestants go head-to-head, getting two questions each. Answering a question correctly earns you a counter, whereas answering incorrectly gives that counter to the opponent. Whoever has the most money at the end of the round moves on to the final round.

Jackpot Round

The last remaining contestant will reach this round and try to win $20,000 ($40,000 in special edition). Firstly, the jackpot counter will be placed into the machine. Then, the contestant will be given five questions, each of a different category, and if they answer correctly, they are given three counters to put into the machine and try to get the jackpot counter over the Tipping Point. If they get the question wrong, then they will simply move onto another question. If the jackpot counter hasn’t been put over the Tipping Point, then an additional round called Jackpot Temptation is played, where Woodbridge will offer the contestant counters and prizes to try and get the jackpot counter over the edge. The prizes will be either various different amounts of money, and/or a holiday to different locations. The contestant has two options; they can either take the money that they earned from the start of the game, or they can risk it for Woodbridge’s offer. If they choose to take the offer, they are given the amount of counters that was offered to try to get the jackpot counter over the edge. If they can successfully get it over, they win the prize, however if they don’t, they walk away with nothing, except for any prizes they may have won during the game.[4] The most money ever won in the jackpot round was $100,000.[5][6][7]
