Tomoyo Harada (原田 知世, Harada Tomoyo; born November 28, 1967 in Nagasaki, Japan) is a Japanese actress, singer, and lyricist, and was a popular idol in the 1980s.

Career
In 1982, Harada participated in a movie audition with the reason of wanting to meet Hiroyuki Sanada, and received a special award.[1] In July of the same year, she made her acting debut in the Fuji TV drama Sailor Suit and Machine Gun. Her first role in a film was in 1983's Toki o Kakeru Shōjo for which she won the award for best newcomer at the 8th Hochi Film Award.[2] She won the award for best actress at the 7th Yokohama Film Festival for Early Spring Story.[3] Numerous other singles and albums have followed.
In the summer of 2007, Harada joined the pop electronica band "pupa" as a vocalist, at the invitation of Yukihiro Takahashi.[4][5] Other members are Hiroshi Takano, Ren Takada, Hirohisa Horie, Tomohiko Gondo.
