Tselinsky District (Russian: Цели́нский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[3] district (raion), one of the forty-three in Rostov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,129 square kilometers (822 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement) of Tselina.[1] Population: 33,690 (2010 Census);[2] 36,742 (2002 Census);[5] 34,666 (1989 Soviet census).[6] The population of Tselina accounts for 31.6% of the district's total population.[2]
