Tumwater School District is a school district headquartered in Tumwater, Washington. The district's territory covers a total of 117 square miles (300 km2) of area.[1] Schools in the Tumwater area had been established by 1845.[2]
As of 2019[update] the enrollment is over 6,000. Of the school districts in Thurston County, this is the third-highest such figure.[1]
The U.S. Department of Education announced a Title IX investigation into Tumwater School District for allowing a transgender athlete in the opposing team against Tumwater High School Girls' basketball team in February 2025.[3]
