The Turkish Emissions Trading System is the draft carbon emission trading system of Turkey, which is supposed to start in 2025,[1]: section 4.8 with a pilot phase including industries such as cement,[2] before the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism starts charging in 2026. The implementation phase is due to run from 2027 to 2034.[3] As of 2024 the system is awaiting approval in parliament[3] and it has not yet been decided whether the country will join the Cooperative Mechanisms under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.[1]: section 4.4.1
