Ugransky District

Ugransky District (Russian: Угрáнский райо́н) is an administrative^[1] and municipal^[3] district (raion), one of the twenty-five in Smolensk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,868.52 square kilometers (1,107.54 sq mi).^[1] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Ugra.^[1] Population: 8,916 (2010 Census);^[2] 11,022 (2002 Census);^[5] 14,005 (1989 Soviet census).^[6] The population of Ugra accounts for 48.0% of the district's total population.^[2]
