Unechsky District (Russian: Унечский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Bryansk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the western central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,148 square kilometers (443 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the town of Unecha.[1] Population: 34,698 (2021 Census);[7] 40,682 (2010 Census);[3] 46,871 (2002 Census);[8] 49,383 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Unecha accounts for 70.0% of the district's total population.[7]
