Vanessa Getty (née Jarman; born 1972) is an American socialite and philanthropist.[1][2][3]
Life and career
Getty was born in San Francisco to actor Claude Jarman Jr. (1934–2025) and ballerina Maryann Eve Opperman (née de Lichtenberg; 1942–2021).[4] She has a sister, Natalie, and five paternal half-siblings.[5][6]
She is a graduate of University of California, Los Angeles.[7]
In 1999, she married Billy Getty, the son of Gordon Getty and Ann Getty, in the Napa Valley.[8][9][10] They have three children and are based in San Francisco.[7][11]
In 2015, she was named as an honorary co-chair of the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco.[12][13][14]
As a philanthropist, Getty contributed in the development of the Peninsula Humane Society. She is also the founder of San Francisco Bay Humane Friends.[7][15]
She supported and donated to the campaign of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, who is also the godmother to one of her children.[16][17]
