Varnavinsky District

Varnavinsky District (Russian: Варна́винский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the forty in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia.^[1] Municipally, it is incorporated as Varnavinsky Municipal District.^[4] It is located in the north of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,523.4 square kilometers (974.3 sq mi).^[1] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Varnavino.^[1] Population: 13,366 (2010 Census);^[2] 15,867 (2002 Census);^[6] 15,130 (1989 Soviet census).^[7] The population of Varnavino accounts for 26.0% of the district's total population.^[2]
