Varroa rindereri is an external parasitic mite that feeds on honey bees. The only known honey bee species it feeds on Apis koschevnikovi.[1][2][3] Its geographic range includes Southeast Asia, Barneo, and Malaysian peninsula.[4] V. rindereri, in addition to V. destructor, V. jacobsoni, and V. underwoodi is one of the 4 known species within the Varroa genus. Among the species of Varroa, V. rindereri is typically larger in size with an average length of 1,180 μm.[5]
