Velalar College of Engineering and Technology is an engineering college located at Thindal, Erode district in the state of Tamil Nadu in India.[1] The College is affiliated to Anna University,[2][3] approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE),[4] accredited 'A' Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council[5] and five programmes (B.E. – BME, CSE, ECE, EEE and B.Tech.-IT) are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).[6]

Admissions
Admission is through Tamil Nadu Engineering. Admission is based on ranking 12 standard exam results, which are facilitated by Directorate Of Technical Education. M.B.A., M.C.A. and M.E. admissions are based on ranking in TANCET examination conducted by Anna University.

Perspective
The Central library was established in the year 2001. In 2008 when the library was shifted to its main building. It is housed in a four storeyed building located at the eastern side in the main building. The library spreads over an area of "1197.86" Sq.m. The Library of our college stands as an epitome of intellectual elegance and source of technical education, in particular to Engineering and Technology. The Library is well equipped with unique features and world - class infrastructure to support and encourage scholarly communication and professional development. With the state-of-the-art technology, the users can access the print, digital and visual resources online throughout the campus. The fully computerized central library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, printed and electronic journals, CD-ROMs, on-line databases, project reports, etc. Open Access System is being followed to access the books and journals.
The digital library is equipped with sufficient no of computers and are connected with both Wi-Fi and LAN for fast and seamless access of the Internet for streaming NPTEL lectures and using e-Resources for the benefit of its users.
Training and Placement
The Training and Placement Cell was established to arrange campus interviews with organizations for placement of final year students, and arranges industrial training for students. Campus placement training (HR, Technical, GD, Written Test) is given in the pre-final year for all eligible candidates.
Accommodation
The college has on-campus hostel facilities for both boys and girls separately.
