Verkhnekamsky District

Verkhnekamsky District (Russian: Верхнека́мский райо́н) is an administrative^[1] and municipal^[5] district (raion), one of the thirty-nine in Kirov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 10,297 square kilometers (3,976 sq mi).^[2] Its administrative center is the town of Kirs.^[1] Population: 32,669 (2010 Census);^[3] 39,643 (2002 Census);^[7] 54,171 (1989 Soviet census).^[8] The population of Kirs accounts for 31.9% of the district's total population.^[3]
