WDLD

WDLD (96.7 FM, "Live 96-7") is an commercial American radio station licensed to Halfway, Maryland. Owned by Alpha Media, it broadcasts a rhythmic contemporary format serving Hagerstown, Maryland.[3]

History

The station went on the air as WHAG-FM in January 1965. In 1974, the station changed its call sign to WQCM. On August 27, 2002, the station changed its call sign to the current WDLD.

In 1975, WQCM changed their format from country music to album-oriented rock.[4]

On March 28, 1977, WQCM changed their format from album-oriented rock back to Top 40/CHR, branded as "97-Q".[5]

On August 5, WQCM moved down the dial from 96.7 to 94.3. On August 27, the call letters were changed to WDLD, and the station adopted a rhythmic contemporary format as Wild 96-7.[6][7]

On November 1, 2018, WDLD rebranded from Wild 96-7 to Live 96-7, segueing from rhythmic contemporary to a mainstream CHR format while retaining as a rhythmic Top 40 station.[8]
