We Find the Bunyip is a 1955 Australian play by Ray Mathew. It is a comedy set in an Australian country pub.
It was highly commended in a competition from the Playwrights' Advisory Board that was won by Summer of the Seventeenth Doll and The Torrents.[1] The play was produced at Sydney's Independent Theatre in a production sponsored by the Elizabethan Theatre Trust.[2][3] The Sydney Morning Herald praised its humour and observation through criticised the lack of story.[4]
The Bulletin praised the script as "lively, comic, full of love and grog, possibly a bit squalid, but with an underlying or pervading atmosphere of poetry."[5]
