Jones writes most of the lyrics for Monet herself, and uses Suno to generate the music.[1][3] Following a bidding war, Monet was signed to Hallwood Media for $3 million.[4] Singer-songwriter Kehlani has criticized the deal, saying that she felt Jones was "doing none of the work".[5]
