Zakharovsky District (Russian: Заха́ровский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the twenty-five in Ryazan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 985.9 square kilometers (380.7 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Zakharovo.[2] Population: 9,136 (2010 Census);[4] 10,607 (2002 Census);[7] 11,205 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Zakharovo accounts for 30.0% of the district's total population.[4]
