Zarneh (Persian: زرنه)^[a] is a city in, and the capital of, Zarneh District of Eyvan County, Ilam province, Iran.^[4] As a village, it was the capital of Zarneh Rural District^[5] until its capital was transferred to the village of Taran.^[4]

The city is populated by Kurds.^[6]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 2,909 in 605 households.^[7] The following census in 2011 counted 3,118 people in 748 households.^[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 2,966 people in 785 households.^[2]
